Shout Out to Some Amazing Small Business Owners & Wonderful Women Working From Home!

I read somewhere on Facebook that this week Saturday, November 30 is Small Business Saturday; so I want to give a shout out to all you small business owner’s & mom friends that are hustling from home. I absolutely love the movement of women working from home, quite often taking hobbies & things they love & turning them into a small business. I was raised & worked alongside my parents & siblings in our family business & have a father who has an entrepreneurial spirit. I love entrepreneurs big & small & how they can take an idea & fearlessly tackle it & turn it into something prosperous. Entrepreneurs are always thinking, always learning & some of the most creative people on the planet. So cheers to all you working a small business whether it be from home, a store front, shop or other platform.

Sweet Pea Soul

A friend of mine has just created her own shop called Sweet Pea Soul. She’s a wonderful person who has literally been like a second mom to my kids. She is creating custom wooden signs & vinyl decals for pretty much anything. Her products & designs are practical for everyday life, everyday moms & everyday homes. Her signs are simple yet elegant with farmhouse flair. So if you’re looking for a custom made, unique something for yourself or someone else don’t hesitate to look any further than Sweet Pea Soul. You can find Sweat Pea Soul on Instagram at https://www.instagram.com/sweet.pea.soul/

Prairie Sweater Co.

This mama is creating “sustainable clothing for every season of motherhood.” The clothing made at Prairie Sweater Co. is made from sustainable fabrics & honestly the softest material you can find for you & your littles. My kids & I have clothing & items made from Prairie Sweater Co. so I can honestly vouch for the quality of the products being made & sold. I absolutely love that so many of the products for moms are multi-purpose & transitional in that you can wear them with a baby bump before baby arrives & then after they’re nursing friendly & flattering on the postpartum body. The Maker of Prairie Sweater Co. merchandise is a friend that I had the pleasure of going to school with & then working with, she’s a real gem so please check out Prairie Sweater Co. at https://www.prairiesweaterco.com/ & give her some love!

The Ladder Lady – perfectly imperfect wood work

I have a friend who though I haven’t known long, has been such an amazing support to our family! We met how lots of moms meet & that was through our daughter’s friendship that blossomed at school. This mama has such a kind, generous, energetic & creative spirit. She is loved & when not busy with her family, busy being athletic, or working at one of her jobs she makes blanket ladders on the side. I have a blanket ladder I purchased from her stained in a soft gray that displays my kid’s blankets & quilts. I absolutely love it because it’s functional, doesn’t take up too much space & looks great! So if you’re in the market for a blanket ladder check her out on Facebook at The Ladder Lady – perfectly imperfect wood work! https://www.facebook.com/The-Ladder-Lady-perfectly-imperfect-wood-work-322086418654421/

Petara Panabaker Photography

This is a shout out to a long-time friend who is an amazing photographer. Petara has photographed our family on multiple occasions & will be for many more if she can tolerate us. Petara is very creative & talented! She has a way of capturing beautiful & natural moments. A huge bonus with Petara is that she makes photo sessions fun & can get our family laughing & smiling without the dreaded “cheese” & click of the camera. If you’re ever looking for photos for pretty much anything I’d recommend sending Petara a message she’s definitely a talented artist & has a creative side like no other! You can check her & her amazing work out on Facebook at Petara Panabaker Photography. https://www.facebook.com/PetaraPanabakerPhotography/

Pepper & Co Scrunchies

Hurray for scrunchies! Am I the only one excited that scrunchies are back?! I think not! I have a beautiful cousin who has jumped on the scrunchie bandwagon & has been making & selling them to raise funds for a mission trip to the Dominican Republic! I love how she has such an entrepreneurial spirit at such a young age & has found a creative way to work & raise funds to support her endeavors. Check her out on Instagram at https://www.instagram.com/pepper_and_co_scrunchies/

“Faith, Trust & Sleeping dust” The creator of ChiciBeanz Handwoven is a friend I met through our church, she’s a busy mom of 5, has pink hair & colorful nails & last, but certainly not least has her own weaving business. She’s truly talented & has such a way of creating vibrant hand died fibers & then weaving them into the most intricate & beautiful patterns. She spends countless hours creating the most beautiful handmade baby wraps for you & your littles. Yoga Loving You

Ok so this shout out is to one of my best friends who rocks pretty much everything she does. She’s a world traveler who to my disappointment isn’t “local” meaning Medicine Hat & area, but who totally deserves a mention. She is a certified yoga instructor who is currently settled in 29 Palms, California & has begun teaching her own yoga classes. Not only does she have one of the most beautiful yoga practices, but she’s such a beauty inside & out! So check her out on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/Yoga-Loving-You-2306240209620200/ & if you’re ever in 29 Palms make sure you slow down, take a deep breath & join Yoga Loving You on your mat!

Songbird Expressions

The creator of Songbird Expressions is another friend I met through our church. She has such a beautiful spirit & creates & sells wooden pallet signs. Each piece she creates is unique & individually hand painted. Her items available for purchase have such a beautiful rustic, farmhouse feel to them. Not only does she sell by the piece, but she also does custom orders. I noticed she’s one like away from 200 on Facebook so give her a little love & check her out at https://www.facebook.com/songbirdexpressions/

The Peacock’s Feather

I just had to give a shout out to my former place of employment & friend Joy from The Peacock’s Feather. The Peacock’s Feather was an antique/vintage store that I used to be employed at. This job was what I called my “fun job” it didn’t feel like work & I loved being employed here as I always felt inspired when I walked through the front door. What I’ve learned about antiques & painting furniture was mostly learned from here. Although the store is no more, The Peacock’s Feather is still alive. Be sure to like & follow The Peacock’s Feather on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/thepeacocksfeatherltd/ as Joy is continuing to inspire many with her talents & artistic side!

Wags Mags

I have to give an early shout out to my kids who have created their own magnet business. There’s a story to how this all came about…in the summer my kids started making magnets here at home…I thought you can never have too many cute funky magnets, but apparently you can…my kids really got into this magnet making stuff & Cache one day said how he wanted to set up “like a lemonade stand that sells magnets.” The only problem is that we live out of town & have a total of 3 neighbors so I had to unfortunately burst his bubble. In September I received an email from our school district that they were looking for entrepreneurial students to sell arts, crafts, projects, etc. Cache & Mabel jumped all over this idea & got real busy making magnets. The product they’re making is functional, made with good quality magnets & has unique designs & quirky magnet names all created & made by them! They will be the youngest entrepreneurs selling product through the store, which is really inspiring. The store Badlands Cre8tions is to go live in December so stay tuned for Wags Mags! For now, I’ve attached a link to a news article written about the store. https://medicinehatnews.com/news/local-news/2019/06/13/new-store-will-feature-items-created-by-prsd-students/
